CARE is a leading international humanitarian aid organisation fighting global poverty, with a special focus on working with women and girls to bring lasting change to their communities.
About the Role
The role leads the development and strengthening of CARE’s partnership and programs in the countries in the Pacific region with a focus on gender equality programming approaches. This includes nurturing CARE’s existing and emerging regional and local level partnerships (in non-presence countries), while also identifying new partners to expand CARE’s partnerships and impact in the Pacific through partner-led programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish positive and supportive relationships with CARE’s existing and emerging partners
- Identify potential new partnerships where interests align with CARE’s strategic priorities
Identify programming opportunities and develop quality programming concepts and proposals
Ensure projects meet annual targets, financial accountability, compliance and project planning and reporting requirements.
Deliver effective program management oversight for CARE program activities implemented in non-presence countries in the region
Deliver training and capacity development support with a focus on program management and gender equality approaches
Ideally you will have
- · Master degree or equivalent postgraduate qualifications in international development or a related field and at least 7-10 years’ experience at a senior level in the management of humanitarian and/or development programs with an international NGO or aid agency
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage complex and diverse stakeholder relationships
- Demonstrated understanding of gender equality and women’s empowerment and experience in coaching or training others on gender concepts
- Demonstrated strong program management skills
- Excellent donor liaison, representation and coordination skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to build capacity and sustain positive working relationship with staff and partners
