CARE is a leading international humanitarian aid organisation fighting global poverty, with a special focus on working with women and girls to bring lasting change to their communities.
CARE Australia is seeking a strategic professional to lead the Humanitarian and Emergency Response Unit (HERU) in the International Programs Department. The HERU Manager leads and manages program management, administrative and technical support to CARE Australia’s humanitarian and emergency response programs. The role works with CARE-Australia managed Country Offices in the South East and the Pacific region and their partners to prepare for and respond to effectively for emergencies. This role is also responsible for maintaining CARE Australia’s grants for emergency preparedness capacity building under the Australian Government’s Humanitarian Partnership Agreement.
To perform successfully in this role, you will possess strong people management and have demonstrated ability to apply development and humanitarian relief theory into international NGOs rapid response emergency situations. Your demonstrated strong communication, representation and negotiation skills, including the ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders will be highly regarded. Your demonstrated high level organisational skills and ability to deliver quality results within deadlines will set you apart from others.
